AWA Sleeve Label Awards 2016 open for entries

AWA has made a call for entries to its Sleeve Label Awards 2016, with the deadline set for January 29 next year.

CCL Label, USA won the Best Sleeve Label 2015 prize, as well as triumphing in the Heat TD Shrink Sleeve category with the Smirnoff Sours entry for Diageo

The AWA Sleeve Label Awards have been developed to recognize this fast-developing industry’s outstanding achievements in stretch and shrink sleeve labeling, and product decoration. The awards are open to all constituents of the sleeve label value chain from designers, film producers and printers/converters, to end users and brand owners.

The winners, chosen by an independent panel of industry experts, will be announced and prizes presented at the next AWA International Sleeve Label Conference & Exhibition, to be held in Denver, Colorado on March 3-4, 2016. This is the 10th anniversary edition of the AWA International Sleeve Label Conference & Exhibition and will provide delegates with a review of the global and regional markets by materials and end uses, and update delegates on material and equipment developments. It will also discuss how sleeve labels continue to address the needs of brand owners to promote brands and gain shelf appeal. The winners in the first AWA Sleeve Label Awards were honored at the AWA International Sleeve Label Conference & Exhibition 2015 in Miami, Florida. CCL Label dominated that contest by taking home two of the awards, and claiming the Best Sleeve Label 2015 prize.

Judges for the Sleeve Label Awards 2016 are Accraply president Dr Seamus Lafferty, Flint Group Narrow Web North America product manager Tom Hammer, Verst Group Logistics vice president of packaging Will Schretzman and Yolanda Simonsis, PFFC president ad editorial director.
