Close shave for Australian paper merchant

Staff at leading Australian paper merchant BJ Ball are feeling the cold a little more, having shaved and colored their hair as part of their involvement in The World's Greatest Shave, a fund raising an initiative to support leukemia and various forms of blood cancers.

They have issued a call to the local printing industry to help them achieve their impressive target total.

The World’s Greatest Shave raises money to support people with leukemia, lymphoma and myeloma, three types of blood cancer. More than 60,000 Australians are living with blood cancer or related disorders and every day another 35 people will be diagnosed. Blood cancer is the third most common cause of cancer death in Australia.

The company's national sales and marketing manager Tony Bertrand believes it should help raise awareness of and support those who are currently going through treatment. So far the Leukemia Foundation, which organizes the World’s Greatest Shave, has raised $11m in Australia.
