FINAT outlines 2015 agenda

FINAT has confirmed important dates in the association’s calendar for 2015, such as its next Labelling Competition, new-look annual congress and Labelexpo Europe 2015.

2015 will see the second global Young Managers Congress organized by Finat Young Managers Club

FINAT, the international association for the self-adhesive label industry, said its 2015 agenda will again center on learning and networking, and so it will be organizing a number of events across the year to give current and future label community members the opportunity to meet with peers, clients, press and other industry related contacts, become informed and exchange information.

This will include the 2015 FINAT Labelling Competition to showcase self-adhesive label and narrow web print by recognizing and rewarding achievements in terms of end-use and marketing impact, and print and converting quality. Awards are given in the main segments where self-adhesive labels are used – alcoholic beverages, food, household, industrial, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, security labeling, (self-) promotion, booklet/coupon labels, and for the major reel-fed print processes (flexo, letterpress, screen, offset, digital print and combination print).

This year is to be the 35th edition of the competition, and sees the digital category upgraded to the status of main group next to the main group of conventional printing processes, which recognizes the significant part that digital printing is playing in the modern label industry, according to FINAT.

Entries for the 2015 FINAT Labelling Competition are requested prior to the deadline on March 5.

2015 will also see the second global Young Managers Congress organized by FINAT Young Managers Club.

Taking place in Bratislava, Slovakia on April 16-18, the congress will provide young managers with the opportunity to hone their management skills and learn from experiences from industry experts. The program also includes social events such as networking dinners and interactive workshops. Special features will be two workshops, one on ‘Managing a Thin Company’, and the other on ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People’.

Next will be the European Label Forum 2015 on June 11-13 in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, which serves as the new format for FINAT’s annual congress. It will focus on business topics, with three different parallel streams – covering sales and marketing, manufacturing and technology, and management and corporate affairs – as well as workshops.

In the autumn, Labelexpo Europe 2015, running September 29 to October 2 in Brussels, Belgium, will provide FINAT with the opportunity to host members, potential members, media and other interested visitors. Prior to the show, FINAT will also host a meeting of the L9 global label associations.

Further initiatives and activities organized by FINAT to take place in 2015 have yet to be confirmed in the diary, although they will include the next edition of Radar, the Recycling Awards program, and technology and management webinars.
