Golf tournament raises record sum for flexo education

This year’s Phoenix Challenge Golf Tournament has been described as a ‘big success’, with around 50 golfers helping to raise a record amount to support flexo and graphic arts education.

The first-placed team was made up by Jim Hughes, Jamie Forrest and Adam Sconyer

Staged at the Stonebridge Golf Club in Monroe, North Carolina, a new course for the annual event, the 2014 Phoenix Challenge Golf Tournament attracted a large number of entrants.

The top teams in 2014 were: the first-placed Jim Hughes, Jamie Forrest and Adam Sconyers; and running up team of Pat Hague, Bryan Robb, Eric Knowles and Gary Jones – last year’s winners.

Founded in 1998, the Phoenix Challenge Foundation is an all-volunteer not-for-profit organization of industry professionals dedicated to the recruitment and development of the future workforce for flexography. The foundation exists solely through generous donations made by industry supporters, suppliers, flexo printers and converters.

The annual Phoenix Challenge Golf Tournament is the result of industry support for graphic arts education and the future of the flexo industry. This year’s event saw an increase in the number of sponsors.
