IHMA opens latest Excellence in Holography Awards for entries

This year’s Excellence in Holography Awards are now open for entries to honor the 'best commercial holography applications'.

IHMA chairman Manoj Kochar said the Excellence in Holography Awards celebrate the very best in holographic achievement

The annual awards program, organized by the International Hologram Manufacturers Association (IHMA), recognizes those who have introduced innovative or commercially viable hologram products or techniques over the past year.

Winners will be announced at the next Holography Conference, which will be held on November 16-17 in Barcelona. Attended by delegates from hologram suppliers, manufacturers and users around the world worldwide, the conference will also feature displays of product from the winners and runners-up.

Anyone involved in a hologram project can enter while others can nominate holographic projects for an award if they provide details of the user or producer of the hologram.  Application forms are available by emailing info@ihma.org or at www.ihma.org.

Any company or individual is eligible to enter – not just IHMA members – and the award categories include Innovations in Holographic Technology, Best Origination, Best Display or Emerging Technology Applications, Best Applied Security Product and Best Applied Decorative/Packaging Product.

The closing date for applications is August 25 and covers hologram projects involving commercial production after August 1, 2016.

A panel of sector experts, which will include a representative of the IHMA and two invited independent judges – one an authentication specialist and the other a promotion or design expert – will make up this year’s judging panel.

The annual Brian Monaghan Award for Business Innovation, given at the discretion of the IHMA board, will also be presented in recognition of outstanding industry achievement and contribution.

IHMA chairman Manoj Kochar said: ‘The awards celebrate the very best in holographic achievement and the many remarkable innovations the industry introduces each year.

‘Creativity, flair and design excellence are again expected to lead the way in this year’s crop of entries, reflecting how holography pushes the holographic boundaries forward both technically and commercially.’
