More events planned at Label Summit Latin America in Colombia

Further details of this year’s conference program have been announced for the 13th edition of Label Summit Latin America.

Set to engage label and package printers, Label Summit Latin America will focus on the latest trends facing this fast paced sector, as well as highlight the latest available technologies. The summit will be April 26-27 at the Hotel Las Americas Convention Center in Cartagena, Colombia, and will provide print trade professionals an opportunity to learn, debate, network and collaborate.

Featuring expert-led conference sessions over two days, delegates will have access to a broad range of seminars and case studies. The opening keynote will be given by Georges Gravanis of Avery Dennison Corporation. Gravanis will be exploring both the local and global trends affecting the pressure-sensitive label industry, as well as underlining issues including sustainability and commercial growth opportunities.

The opening day also will include presentations on subjects including new applications in digital printing by Grupo Ercus, a panel discussion involving the leaders of Andigraf, Finat and TLMI, an overview of in-mold labeling by Maya Pack Group and YUPO and a round-up of the latest niche technologies. Delegates also will hear from fellow printers including Carlos Rodriguez Garmendia of Mexico’s Graphic Image, Francisco Arias of Ecuador-based Sismode and Colombian-based Coditeq’s Jorge Arias. They will be discussing the issues surrounding setting up new printing plants in foreign markets such as how to harmonize print and quality standards and create a regional network of companies.

Day two’s morning sessions will cover topics including films and flexible packaging with an update on current developments in thin film labeling from UPM Raflatac and shrink sleeves from Accraply. The afternoon will focus on interactive products, design and branding with presentations including the incorporation of neuroscience and eye tracking into package design by Dr. Henry Castillo of NeuroMind and smart products to increase consumer sales by Germark’s Iban Cid. Carolina Alzate Álvarez, co-founder of imasD will share her expertise with a 360 degree look at business models, user insight and case studies on creative packaging design excellence highlighting the importance of package shaping and label and product decoration.

The conference program will conclude with a beer sampling and interactive workshop where delegates will hear about the beer brewing and label design process from Bavarian-owned brand Club Colombia, Hernán Saldarriaga Londoño of converter Etipress and substrate suppliers UPM Raflatac. Aimed at print industry professionals including printers, label and packaging designers and brand owners, Label Summit Latin America provides the Colombian market with valuable and informative conference sessions and networking opportunities.
