PCMC acquires Graphbury Machines

Paper Converting Machine Company (PCMC), a division of Barry-Wehmiller, has acquired Graphbury Machines, broadening its product portfolio in the process.

Graphbury Machine's anilox laser washing machine allows cleaning of ceramic and chrome anilox rolls of any line screen without causing surface wear

The flexo press manufacturer’s acquisition of Graphbury Machines adds a range of products intended to improve flexo printers’ production and performance, such as the anilox laser washing machine for cleaning ceramic and chrome anilox rolls of any line screen without causing surface wear. The laser technology works on all kinds of inks, and vaporizes deposited particles inside of the cells with ‘unprecedented efficiency’, it is claimed.

Steve Kemp, PCMC president, said: ‘The talent and knowledge that Graphbury brings will strengthen our ability to provide value to our existing customers, while remaining responsive to emerging market technologies.’

Rodney Pennings, PCMC printing, coating and laminating sales director, added: ‘This acquisition marks the beginning of a new era for PCMC in providing high-performance, innovative solutions. We are looking forward to collaborating and creating additional value for customers.’

Graphbury Machines is Barry-Wehmiller's 90th acquisition, and Bob Chapman, Barry-Wehmiller chairman and CEO, said: ‘We are pleased to share our unique culture of care and people-centric leadership practices with Graphbury Machines. Our partnership will enhance PCMC’s offerings for the flexible packaging industry and continue to strengthen our customers’ trust.’
