Preparations in full swing for second FlexoGurukul

Themed on controlling color in flexo pressroom, the session will see Frank Burgos, consultant at FlexoExchange and flexo expert for the last 30 years, again acting as teacher.

Topics the session will cover include spot color expectations and challenges, spot color formulas, blending spot colors with greater success, working off spot color inks, four color process color control, key concepts of process printing and understanding color standards.

More than 50 registrations from about 30 printers have so far been received for the event. Offset printers are also expected to attend.

Harveer Sahni, chief mentor at Fasco Printech, which organizes the FlexoGurukul events, said: ‘At this platform, we are trying to reinforce and teach the correct way to run a printing press.
‘We feel printers are getting very serious about the training. They are mostly repeat registrations from the first session. However, most companies who sent two delegates last time are sending four to six this time. There will be lot more printers and delegates at the upcoming show.’

The first FlexoGurukul seminar took place earlier this year.

Fasco Printech is trying to add more value this time around by making it more interactive and including educational videos to engage the audience.

The second Flexo Gurukul takes place in the days running up to Labelexpo India 2014, which takes place at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi on October 29 to November 1.

The venue and dates for the second FlexoGurukul have been strategically decided right before Labelexpo India so exhibitors who register can participate while monitoring the build-up of their respective stands. After the two-day session, Burgos will attend Labelexpo India for any guidance or help that professionals may need at the show floor. ‘Training and education are a part of Fasco Printech. It is not restricted to FlexoGurukul,’ said Sahni.

Fasco Printech sees building this concept further by starting training schools and helplines for the industry over a period of time. However, Sahni added: ‘We have a technical team ready but the initiative will only be complete if other companies partner with us.’
