Selfridges olive oil labels enhanced with Manter Tintoretto Gesso Greaseproof

Selfridges & Co, a chain of high-end department stores in the UK, has reprinted labels for its artisan olive oil bottles to Manter’s Tintoretto Gesso Greaseproof substrate as it strives to provide the ‘best quality and best experience to our customers’, while adding extra value and maintaining the premium look of its packaging.

'At Selfridges we strive to provide the best quality and best experience to our customers.'

Tintoretto Gesso Greaseproof by Manter is a pure cellulose paper which is uncoated, felt-marked and greaseproof.

Amberley Labels, an established digital printer in the UK utilizing HP Indigo’s dry toner technology, and which counts Selfridges as an existing customer, said it had investigated greaseproof and stain-proof labels last year for a premium cosmetic products client, which led it to Tintoretto Gesso Greaseproof.

Tintoretto Gesso Greaseproof was rigorously tested over a period of time using accelerated ageing, Amberley Labels said, with variable conditions applied for temperature and humidity to ensure that the label would not show any degradation either in aspect or in oil barrier properties.

‘Through this research, coupled with our knowledge and expertise, enabled us to confidently recommend and highlight the benefits of the Tintoretto Gesso Greaseproof substrate to others,’ a spokesperson for Amberley Labels said.

This resulted in Selfridges, one of the printer’s prestigious customers, reprinting labels on the new substrate and creating a beautiful premium look label to promote its exclusive extra virgin olive oil.

Maciej Mecke, packaging production manager at Selfridges, said: ‘At Selfridges we strive to provide the best quality and best experience to our customers. The greaseproof labels proposed by Amberley to be used on our artisan olive oil bottles have delivered exactly the above.

‘The labels add extra value and maintain the premium look of our packaging.’
