TLMI to host Life Cycle Analysis webinar in June

TLMI will host a webinar on June 7 at 2 p.m. EST to brief members on the process and benefits of Life Cycle Analysis, or LCA.

TLMI to Hold Life Cycle Analysis webinar

As brand owners, packaging buyers and retailers continue to drive sustainability requirements through the supply chain, label converters are seeking resources to evaluate and analyze the environmental impact of their products. LCA is an assessment tool that tracks the impact of a labeled product from the creation of raw materials to the final disposal of the product.

TLMI has joined European-based association Finat in developing an LCA guidance document that helps companies gain insight into the methodology of the LCA process and ways they can apply this tool to their own businesses. The TLMI LCA Webinar will feature industry experts who will discuss the benefits of using life cycle analysis and the ways converters can benefit from applying it to their overall business strategies.

Ingrid Brase, TLMI consultant said: 'Last year TLMI and Finat contracted sustainability firm PRé Consultants to carry out research and create a harmonized LCA guidance document and sector approach for pressure sensitive labels. Within TLMI we also formed a task force to assist PRé and to make sure the research was focused on areas that are relevant to the association’s label converter and supplier members. The webinar is designed to provide members with insight into life cycle analysis and its relevance, as well as a review of PRé’s work on harmonized approach by taking a closer look at two case studies where it was applied.'

TLMI president Mark Tibbetts added: 'TLMI’s sustainability mission is to provide our members with tangible sustainability tools and resources. The association continues to allocate resources to create programs that educate, inform and enrich our members’ businesses. Working in conjunction with Finat has allowed us to design a harmonized approach to help our members respond to the requirements of their customers and the environmental performance of their products.'
