The terminal will supply both film and paper label materials to customers in the south-west China region. In addition to the new slitting and distribution terminal in Chengdu, UPM Raflatac’s production and sales network in China consists of a self-adhesive labelstock factory in Changshu, terminals in Guangzhou and Tianjin, and sales offices in Beijing and Shanghai.

The new Chengdu terminal is part of UPM Raflatac’s expansion program in the Asia-Pacific region, which aims to increase production capacity and expand the service network in the market.

Jari Haavisto, vice president for UPM Raflatac Greater China, said: ‘The new terminal brings us closer to our customers in the south-west part of China, thus allowing us to offer a wide range of products with shorter lead times. It also strengthens our commitment to provide excellent customer service and technical support to the customers in the region.’

UPM Raflatac is exhibiting at this week’s Labelexpo Asia 2015, and also features as part of the event’s conference program.
