Avery Dennison introduced the new Prati slitter inspection machine, Sun Classic, at its ADKC in Bengaluru, in November 2014, along with the new X-Rite spectrodensitometer.

Anil Sharma, ‎vice president and managing director for South Asia and Sub Saharan Africa at Avery Dennison Materials Group, said: ‘At ADKC, the purpose of constantly bringing in new equipment and product is not simply to promote them. They are educational tools that we use to demonstrate the most advanced technologies involved in label printing.’

ADKC provides a program for converting partners to send their employees to receive training on label printing. Participants also learn about the common issues faced by converters. To date, more than 80 converting partners have visited ADKC and have attended the program.

In addition, based on customer requests, ADKC offers customized programs, helping customers address their own issues from the production floor. Eight such programs were conducted in 2014.

ADKC also works closely with the Label Manufacturers Association of India (LMAI) to empower young graduates from technical and printing institutes through special training program.
The five weeks program enables students to upgrade their technical skills and credentials with professional certification.

‘Last year, we had five graduates complete the program, and all of them are working in the printing industry now,’ said Sharma. ‘We will continue the partnership with LMAI and drive forward this initiative. We plan to increase the number of enrolled students to 75 to 100 in the next 12 to 18 months.’
