Lake Image Systems said high speed, wide format digital print technology satisfies market demands for intelligent print featuring large amounts of personalized, unique and variable data, with track and trace labels, security print, personalized documents, tax stamps, gaming, lottery and phone/scratch cards pushing the production and process boundaries requirements for speed, data content and complexity.

The new Discovery PDV controller, in combination with Discovery MultiScan, can read every field of variable data in a print run, and compare back to the original file. It can confirm that the correct print file is running and that each field of data within each data record is correct. Poor quality print and incorrect print data can be identified, and an alarm condition can be used to alert the press operator, mark the web, divert the sheet or stop the process.

Proven at reading up to 400 fields of data per web repeat, at speeds in excess of 300m/min, Lake Image Systems said the Discovery MultiScan and PDV controller combination can provide complete quality and integrity confidence for the most complex of variable data print runs.

By instantly identifying errors, waste is also reduced to a minimum, supporting waste reduction and continual improvement programs.
