Lake Image Systems launches Discovery MaxScan

Discvoery MaxScan provides true 600dpi resolution for print inspection applications at web or sheet widths of 309mm (12in), 619mm (24in) or 929mm (36in). Lake Image Systems said this can match or exceed the resolution of most print engines enabling a variety of inspection functions including missing or blocked jets using the full Discovery MultiScan toolset. In addition MaxScan provides full color images with excellent color representation and repeatability.

Discovery MaxScan’s linear contact scanner has a working distance of just 12mm (0.5in) with a maximum headroom requirement of less than 170mm (7in), so is suitable for integration within the transport system of a press without the need for additional rollers, redesigned web paths, large working distances or complex optical assemblies typical with standard camera inspection technologies.

Discovery MaxScan also has the ability to provide consistent and reflection free images of holograms and foils.
