Pillar launches VERSATreat corona treatment system
Pillar Technologies, a manufacturer of surface treatment and induction cap sealing systems, has launched the VERSATreat corona treatment system, said to ‘respond to the industry’s request for longer ceramic electrode life and longer ceramic roll covering life’.

Features of the VERSATreat system include: the ability to universally treat both conductive and non-conductive materials; a new ceramic electrode with electrical and structural properties designed to maximize uptime, minimizing electrode failures and increase treatment level; a proprietary ceramic ground roll coating that provides nearly 100 percent greater dielectric strength than competitor ceramic coatings; an exclusively-applied ceramic ground roll coating, which significantly increases in-service life and MTBF; and an industry-exclusive three-year non-prorated ground roll warranty.
Brad Budde, sales manager at Pillar, a business unit of ITW, said: ‘This exclusive corona treatment technology directly responds to the industry’s request for longer ceramic electrode life and longer ceramic roll covering life. It also features a smaller, more compact design compared to competitive systems.
‘Pillar's VERSATreat system is designed with leading-edge component materials to create the most reliable performance and operational safety for our customers. Our customers, and the customers of our competitors, want a corona treater which handles longer continuous running periods and which minimizes maintenance downtime. Pillar’s VERSATreat system corona treatment system meets these criteria while also providing economical operation.’
