Specialist firm Railex has launched its filing services to the label printing sector with a new product.

Traditionally providing files and folders to the UK and international legal, print and accountancy sectors, Railex has used its graphic arts storage range to develop a filing system designed to meet the needs of label printers.

The system enables label printers to store and retrieve label cutting foils, quickly, without damage and in a greatly reduced floor area in comparison to traditional storage methods. The system consists of a rack with hanging transparent polypropylene files designed to protect the valuable cutters from damage and they can be indexed to allow rapid retrieval and hence reduce change-over times.

David Windsor, director of Railex said: ‘We are confident that this new system will establish Railex as the preferred storage supplier for the label printing industry.’

He added: ‘To give an example of how well these systems can work, one of our label printing clients had 450 cutters stored in a mixture of 108mm and 158mm diameter tubes. These were stored in racks and covered a floor area of 2.1 square meters to a height of 2.5 meters. After implementing the Railex system the client was able to store 1200 cutters in the same area without increasing the height. Not only this, the system provided superior protection for what is an extremely valuable item.’
