Squid Ink launches LED-UV curing system

Squid Ink Manufacturing, a manufacturer of both inks and inkjet printing equipment, has launched an LED-UV curing system – Squid UV – which is capable of curing ink across a 20 x 40mm illumination area.

Squid Ink Manufacturing has launched an LED-UV curing system – Squid UV – which is capable of curing ink across a 20mm x 40mm illumination area.

The Squid UV system features an LED module with CHIP integrated technology to provide consistent luminance.

The stability of LED-UV technology makes the output of electricity predictable and stable, Squid Ink Manufacturing said, with Squid UV offering instant on/ off performance, eliminating warm up and cool down times.

The lamp assemblies include integrated air cooling to lower the unit’s operating temperature. Upwards of a 20,000-hour illumination runtime is claimed.

Further, Squid Ink Manufacturing claims its LED-UV curing systems use around 75 percent less energy than typical UV arc lamp curing.

The units have a small footprint and mount directly to users’ existing converting lines. The system can be programmed to run in manual, semi-auto and automatic mode.
