Teknek introduces desktop contact cleaning range

Teknek, a supplier of web and sheet cleaning technology, has launched a new range of hand-held contact cleaning equipment.
The dust removal hand tool range applies the same technology used in Teknek’s award-winning larger industrial contact cleaning machines. A special elastomer roller removes dry unattached particles down to one micron in size from a variety of substrates. In addition, the recently launched NanoCleen rubber rollers can remove particles of below one micron in size and also has static dissipating properties which helps prevent re-attraction of particles to the substrate. Nanocleen rollers are also silicone free, which means there is minimal risk of contaminating the substrate.
The portfolio of desktop cleaners comprises of:
DCR – Dust Cleaning Roller
This hand-held roller is suitable for cleaning films, panels, work surfaces, walls, glass, exposure units and so forth. It is claimed to pick up particles (down to one micron in size) from any flat surface without damaging the surface or leaving anything behind. Once the roller has been applied to the surface it is rolled over a special adhesive pad which removes the debris leaving the roller ready for the next application. For more intense cleaning, the NanoCleen range of DCR rollers can remove contamination under one micron in size as well as reducing static on the surface of the substrate. The DCR is available in two widths – 6 inch (150mm) or 12 inch (300mm).
Fast Pad – DCR roller with adhesive roll docking station
The Fast Pad DCR hand-held roller features an ergonomically designed handle for less wrist strain and an automated roller cleaning station. Once the DCR is placed in the docking station it is automatically cleaned leaving it ready for the next application. Particles and debris are transferred on to a special pre-sheeted adhesive roll where the sheets can easily be removed once they become full. Key benefits of the Fast Pad are said to include ease of use, greater productivity and reduced operating costs. The Fast Pad comes in two widths – 6 inches (150mm) and 12 inches (300mm) – and a Nanocleen version is available which offers more intensive cleaning (< 1 micron).
Desktop entry-level double-sided cleaner
This compact desktop cleaning machine is suitable for cleaning double-sided materials such as plastic sheets, rigid panels, films and glass. The company says it has been introduced in response to customer demand for an affordable, high efficiency cleaning solution for work stations. The cleaner incorporates two elastomer rollers rolling continuously with two specially matched adhesive rolls. The part to be cleaned is fed into the machine and both sides of the substrate are cleaned simultaneously. The material is not damaged or affected by the process. The Desk Top unit has a working width of 12 inches (300mm) and a Nanocleen version is also available which is suited to cleaning thin statically charged materials such as polyimide, kapton, PET sheets and so forth.
Tekwipes multi-purpose clean room wipes
To complement the desktop and hand held ranges Teknek has developed specially formulated wipes. Tekwipes are suited to refreshing elastomer roller surfaces and can remove fingerprints and other oil-based contamination from rollers, glass and surfaces (will not harm LCD screens). The wipes have the optimal ratio of isopropanol to water for high performance and are lint-free so can be used in a clean room environment.
