NextGen Label Group names Anton Ali as next CTO

NextGen Label Group has named Anton Ali as its next chief technical officer following the announcement that Paul Roux will retire at the end of 2026.

Ali joined the company as vice president of technical services on May 4 and will work alongside Roux for the remainder of the year before assuming the CTO role upon his retirement.

Roux has spent more than 20 years with the organization, joining Syracuse Label as vice president of development before becoming CTO following the 2022 merger of Syracuse Label and W.N. Van Alstine and Sons, which formed NextGen Label Group.

During his tenure, Roux has overseen the company’s technical strategy and customer growth initiatives, helping strengthen its technical capabilities across the business.

Ali joins NextGen Label Group from Google, where he led global packaging engineering and supply chain strategy. He brings more than 20 years of experience in packaging and materials science.

Before joining Google, Ali served as technical director at Hammer Packaging, now part of Multi-Color Corporation (MCC), where he led package engineering, field service teams and research and development initiatives supporting consumer packaged goods brands.

The company said Ali’s experience across labeling, packaging materials, printing technologies and supply chain strategy will support its continued focus on innovation, sustainability and emerging packaging technologies while helping customers respond to changing market demands.
