Schreiner Group has appointed Dr Jens Vor der Brüggen, who was leading research and development, as the head of Technology and Innovation Management (TIM). He has assumed responsibility for TIM from Robert Weiss. Weiss will support during the transition phase as 'senior management consultant, Technology Management,' and continue to perform key strategic tasks.

'I am delighted about the trust that has been placed in me and about this new challenge,' said Dr Vor der Brüggen. 'Technologically, we have a strong foundation that we intend to develop further jointly. My goal is to drive innovations systematically and to broaden Schreiner Group’s technology base even further.' Dr Vor der Brüggen joined the company in 2002 and has shaped Schreiner Group’s evolution ever since then.

President and CEO Roland Schreiner emphasized the importance of the new role by stating that 'Dr Jens Vor der Brüggen is an experienced and highly competent expert taking the helm of our Technology and Innovation Management. He has been familiar with Schreiner Group and our technology landscape for more than two decades. I am convinced that he will continue to strengthen our company’s innovative prowess.'

Weiss earned significant recognition for his contributions as well. 'In the past twelve years, Robert Weiss made Technology and Innovation Management a key driver of our technological evolution,' Schreiner added. 'We sincerely thank him for his commitment and are delighted to be able to continue benefiting from his advisory support.'

TIM is far more than a classic development function, combining a variety of areas of expertise and forward-thinking skills under a common umbrella: research and development (R&D) with its three specialized teams – basic technologies, functional components and laboratory/prototyping – the Schreiner LogiData, Schreiner ProSecure, Schreiner Services and Schreiner Digital Solutions Competence Centers and cross-functional Innovation Management that is focused on development and patent management, and includes an in-house pilot plant.

The development of smart and functional products and technology, for instance, in the field of RFID technology, in which the LogiData competence center plays a leading role, is a special focus. That is where both products and processes for integrating innovative technologies are developed. At the same time, Innovation Management, with strategic foresight, ensures that promising ideas are systematically identified, assessed, and developed to the level of marketability.

'Our innovative prowess is the result of the close integration of technology expertise, market knowledge and methodical development,' said Dr Vor der Brüggen. 'We want to leverage that structure to create sustainable, market-focused and technologically leading products for our customers.'

With the change at the helm of TIM, Schreiner Group sets the course for a prosperous technological future—consistently, strategically and with tomorrow’s challenges in mind.
