Schreiner Group appoints technology head

Industry veteran Dr Jens Vor der Brüggen takes leadership of technology and innovation management department.

Schreiner Group has appointed Dr Jens Vor der Brüggen to lead its Technology and Innovation Management (TIM) department, succeeding Robert Weiss, who will transition to a senior management consultant role in technology management.

Dr Vor der Brüggen, who joined the company in 2002, ascends to the position after several years leading Schreiner Group's research and development segment, where he played a key role in shaping the company's technological development.

'Research and development is a crucial driver for the future viability of our company, and our task is to align it in such a way that we create genuine added value for the markets,' Dr. Vor der Brüggen explained. 'At Schreiner ProTech, the focus is on developing options for the automotive industry and other industrial customers that perform reliably under the toughest conditions. In the Schreiner MediPharm division, the focus is on the safety of patients and users.'

The TIM department combines multiple areas of expertise, including research and development, with three specialized teams covering basic technologies, functional components and laboratory prototyping. It also oversees the Schreiner LogiData, Schreiner ProSecure, Schreiner Services and Schreiner Digital Solutions competence centers.

Cross-functional innovation management focuses on development and patent management, including an in-house pilot plant. The department emphasizes smart and functional developments, particularly in RFID technology, where the LogiData competence center leads product and process development for integrating smart technologies.
