SP Group to take Comexi Offset C18

Comexi Group is to install an Offset CI8 press at the SP Group plant in Córdoba, Spain.

SP Group is dedicated to the manufacture of flexible packaging using co-extrusion, printing and lamination, and deploys flexography and rotogravure. It also produces thermoforming films for semi-rigid trays for use in food wrapping and sanitary products, and pre-assembled bags. The company’s average annual production is of 40,000 tonnes.

The Comexi Offset CI8 is equipped with cutting-edge printing tools and processes, guaranteeing the quality levels demanded by today’s packaging market, and overcomes the drawbacks of offset printing on non-absorbent and stretchable materials thanks to the central drum.

The Comexi Offset CI8 also uses EB curing technology, which allows the use of solventless and instantaneous cured inks without photo-initiators.

Environmental concerns, print quality and changeover speeds were all considerations for SP Group when planning its latest investment. SP Group has already invested in Comexi lamination and slitting systems this year.

SP Group’s purchase of a Comexi Offset CI8 is the second of the offset printing machine, which was launched at Drupa 2012. Comexi has already installed the first at fellow Spanish flexible packaging specialist Inplacsa.
