FirstaGroup launches mono-material BOPP film
The new ILC-BOPP combines high oxygen and moisture barrier properties with stable printability.
Firsta Group has introduced ILC-BOPP(In-Line Coated BOPP, a high-barrier, mono-material BOPP film developed to support the growing demand for recyclable flexible packaging.
Designed for packaging applications, ILC-BOPP combines high oxygen and moisture barrier properties with stable printability, making it suitable for snack foods, confectionery, tea, coffee, frozen foods and daily chemical products. Based on in-line coating technology, the film integrates functional coating directly into the BOPP production process, delivering high barrier performance while improving manufacturing efficiency. FirstaGroup is among the first companies in China to achieve commercial-scale production of this technology.
The launch comes as the European packaging industry prepares for key Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) milestones in August, driving greater adoption of mono-material packaging that balance performance with recyclability.
A key advantage of ILC-BOPP is Firsta Group's integrated manufacturing capabilities. Masterbatch development, BOPP film production, coating and vacuum metallization are carried out across the group's companies, enabling greater quality consistency and faster product development.
‘ILC-BOPP reflects our commitment to developing film solutions that meet both performance and sustainability goals,’ said Dr. Fan, general manager of Firsta Group Marketing Center. ‘As packaging regulations continue to evolve, we will continue to help customers achieve recyclable packaging without compromising product protection.’
With over 40 years of experience in polymer film manufacturing, Firsta Group continues to expand its portfolio of functional films for packaging and label applications, serving customers across global markets.
