Herma launches digital sustainability tool for labels
The GreenGuide helps users identify sustainable self-adhesive materials.
Herma has launched its digital GreenGuide, a tool designed to help label printers and brand owners identify sustainable self-adhesive materials for packaging applications with just a few clicks.
The platform allows users to select from nine packaging types and quickly determine suitable label materials based on sustainability criteria. Users can focus on specific aspects, such as reducing resource consumption or improving recyclability, and then choose material preferences to receive detailed recommendations for face material, adhesive, and liner combinations.
'The range of sustainable self-adhesive materials is growing continuously, and we are expanding our portfolio all the time,' notes Milos Kojic, head of B2B marketing at Herma. 'Yet many label printers and users are wondering: which sustainable label material is actually suitable for my specific packaging, for my individual application?'
The tool covers common packaging types including PET bottles, flexible packaging, fibre-based packaging, glass, aluminum and reusable containers. The GreenGuide displays only practical and currently available material combinations to ensure recommendations can be implemented immediately.
Herma plans to enhance the platform with additional information in its subsequent development stage, including details on the requirements of the new EU Packaging Regulation for certain packaging types and materials.
