Securikett introduces recycled security tapes

New tamper-evident tape combines visual security performance with sustainable materials.

Securikett has launched a new range of SecurityTapes manufactured from recycled raw materials, marking a further step toward more sustainable packaging.

The new tapes are a further development and extension of Securikett’s recycled-material label portfolio, which was introduced in spring 2025.

The newly developed tapes are available in various widths and feature a tamper-evident opening effect when removed. They are engineered to trigger the Void effect even when multiple layers of security tape are applied one on top of the other, ensuring protection across various packaging scenarios.

A key design element is the adhesive-free zone located in the center of the tape. This feature prevents premature activation of the Void effect from vibration during transport or from impacts such as parcel drops, thereby maintaining functionality until intentional opening. Another feature is that the Void effect is activated even when multiple layers of tape are applied one on top of another, ensuring that tampering attempts are noticeable.

By using recycled materials, these tapes contribute to a sustainable circular economy while maintaining enhanced security standards required for product and shipment protection.

Werner Horn, CEO of Securikett, commented: 'Our new security tapes made from recycled materials represent another important step toward sustainable packaging, complementing our proven paper-based tapes. For customers who cannot or prefer not to switch to paper, they provide an ecological alternative that enables both secure and more sustainable packaging.'
