HP has announced that Tamar Labels has purchased a second HP Indigo press to print high quality, short-run labels for smaller companies.

Tamar Labels specializes in producing customized standard labels, self-adhesive labels and security labels for a wide range of customers, including the specialty foods, beverages and wines markets and the automotive and toiletries industries at its BRC /IoP (British Retail Consortium and Institute of Packaging Global Standard) accredited site in Tavistock, UK.

The HP Indigo ws4500 press has the ability to print personalized label and packaging items, which can add value to the clients’ products, at a commercially viable cost. Tamar Labels now uses its HP Indigo digital presses to produce high-quality, short-run labels for smaller companies, allowing their products to reach the marketplace quickly in order to compete against bigger brands.

‘The new HP Indigo press ws4500 will complement our first digital press and our conventional capabilities,’ said Robert Lee, sales director, Tamar Labels. ‘We have an integrated MIS system that works seamlessly with the digital presses, to ensure total control and efficiency throughout the sales, pre-press, workflow, despatch and invoicing processes.’

The HP Indigo press ws4500 is capable of producing labels using a variety of substrates. The seven-color press uses liquid-based HP ElectroInk to achieve the widest possible color gamut, which ensures color consistency and optimum print quality, these factors are critical in attracting large brands to work with Tamar Labels. The versatility of the new press allows Tamar Labels to meet its customers’ requirements quickly and efficiently.

‘HP technology and support services have been vital for the growth of our company and have helped us become one the UK’s fastest growing narrow web label producers,’ said Lee. ‘HP provides us with a total solution to all our printing and business development requirements and the dedicated account management is second to none.’

In order to continue development and capitalize on opportunities for sustainable growth in the digital printing market Tamar Labels uses HP’s business development tools, regularly utilizing the ‘My HP Indigo’ portal to order inks online. Representatives from the company are planning to attend HP’s marketing courses – Maximizing the Digital Opportunity and Digital Selling Skills – launched under the Capture business success program.
