Xeikon signs pre-press deal with Malhotra Graphics in India
Xeikon has signed up Indian national distributor Malhora Graphics for the complete range of high-end ThermoFlexX digital imagers.

Malhotra Graphics has been part of the graphic arts industry since 1966. In the last decade it has forayed into equipment, representing leading suppliers including Fujifilm, Glunz & Jensen, HP Indigo, Dupont, Morgana Systems, Krug+Priester, Uchida, VIP Color and Impressions Technology Europe.
Features of the ThermoflexX digital imager include a vacuum slider concept that provides for flexibility, efficiency and 5,080dpi resolution. Supported plate widths range from 18in (420mm) to 80in (2,032mm). Depending on the imager model, customers choose between a 10W-50W high-power fiber laser, delivering from 1-3.75 sq m an hour production capacity. Resolutions are either 2,540dpi or 5,080dpi.
Christophe Lievens, director of sales and marketing at Xeikon Prepress, said: ‘Xeikon Prepress has been manufacturing computer-to-plate (CtP) solutions for more than 15 years. With ThermoFlexX, we are expanding our CtP business into the flexographic and letterpress markets, further reinforcing Xeikon’s commitment to the label and packaging markets.’
Bimal Chaku, general manager of Malhotra Graphics, added: ‘A heavy-duty design with a granite base offers machine stability, and a hybrid drum for mounting flexo plates makes for easy maintenance. An open system allowing any software integration adds flexibility.
‘In addition, a reasonable cost of support makes ThermoFlexX an attractive product for the Indian market, suitable for various applications, be it tags, labels, flexible packaging, folding carton or corrugated packaging.’
