Herma achieves first EcoVadis Platinum rating

Self-adhesive materials specialist joins the top one percent of assessed companies.

Herma has achieved the Platinum medal in the EcoVadis sustainability audit for the first time, placing the company in the top one percent of companies assessed over the past 12 months. Last year, Herma held a Gold rating, placing it in the top five percent.

The improvement was driven primarily by gains in the environmental category, where Herma's score rose from 69 to 94 out of 100. Key factors included ISO 14001 certification achieved in 2025, the company's first participation in the CDP rating with an above-average result, the audit and verification of its carbon footprint and a group-wide voluntary sustainability report covering all subsidiaries. Herma also improved its EcoVadis Carbon Scorecard rating from intermediate to leader.

'Receiving the Platinum medal for the first time is a strong signal to us that we have once again been able to substantially improve our sustainability performance,' said Marcus Gablowski, chief sustainability officer at Herma. 'It is particularly important to us that such results are not based on individual measures, but on a systematic and long-term approach.'

'The fact that these efforts are now being rewarded with a Platinum rating is an important endorsement for us,' added Elise Keuler from the sustainability team.

Dr Guido Spachtholz, managing director of Herma, noted that the award demonstrates sustainability has retained its relevance even in a challenging market environment, with EcoVadis assessments continuing to be valued highly by customers.
