Lecta launches Creaset GP PFAS-free greaseproof gloss paper for labels

New one-side coated paper targets sustainable grease-resistant label applications.

Lecta has launched Creaset GP PFAS-free, a new one-side coated gloss paper developed to meet increasing demand for sustainable, grease-resistant label materials without per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances.

The innovative paper combines high performance with environmental responsibility, offering an alternative to traditional greaseproof papers as global regulatory and consumer pressure grows to eliminate harmful substances in packaging applications.

The PFAS-free formulation provides excellent grease resistance while maintaining performance and appearance in oily environments. The high gloss finish enhances shelf presence and visual appeal with outstanding printability for clear and vibrant brand messaging.

Key applications include wet glue labels for small-format containers such as plastic oil bottles, where labels must withstand direct contact with greasy substances. The paper ensures strong adhesion, lasting appearance and effective brand communication in greasy conditions.

Self-adhesive label applications include glass jars of mayonnaise or oil bottles, where grease resistance is crucial. The paper maintains appearance and legibility over time, even under constant exposure to oily contents.

'Creaset GP PFAS-Free represents a significant step forward in Lecta's commitment to sustainable innovation,' the company stated. 'It empowers brands to reduce their environmental impact without compromising on label quality or performance.'

The launch addresses growing regulatory requirements and consumer demand for safer packaging materials while delivering the functional performance required for challenging grease-resistant applications.
