GEW to show UV curing products at Labelexpo Asia

GEW will introduce its e-System range of UV curing lamp heads to the Chinese label printing market at Labelexpo Asia in
New design features include enhancements to its VCP model with a reflector profile that includes cold shutter and cold filter to optimize UV efficiency and cooler running. All models are supplied with GEW’s award-winning, electronic power supplies with quantifiable energy savings.
‘Based on a typical 8-color, 330mm (13”) printing press, a GEW UV system would boast energy savings of approximately US $9,000 per year and thus pays for itself,’ said the company in a statement. ‘Running costs are further minimized by new innovations to UV lamp technology. GEW lamps deliver increased output and run for a guaranteed minimum of 1,500 hours operation, improving productivity and reducing press downtime.’
The company will also introduce a range of peripheral technologies designed to further reduce operating costs and benefit the environment. These include its GreenTimer, intelligent power management software to boost energy savings when the UV system is on standby, cost effective UV monitoring tools and servicing of systems in the field via internet connection. UV monitoring tools are offered in the form of full integration within the UV lamp heads to give a constant reading on the touch screen or supplied as hand held units to take readings from each individual lamp head.
Information will also be available on GEW’s new inert gas atmosphere UV system for curing inks in food packaging applications where there is a requirement to minimize oxygen levels within the UV curing chamber.
