Offset Print and Packaging picks Heidelberg

Aylesford, UK-based Offset Print and Packaging Group has built a new extension to its main production facility to house a Heidelberg Diana X folder gluer, due to be installed later in the year.   The new Diana will join existing Bobst and Grassi machines.

Offset chose the Diana X 115 after testing the alternatives.  Director of operations Vince Brearey said: ‘Although it was not the cheapest option, the quality of the machine is unmatched, and its versatility will give us the benefit of a wide range of straight-line and crash lock constructions.’

The Diana X line is fitted with the WH Leary Array 6 high-pressure glue application system, Diana Prefeeder and Diana Packer to give Offset a high level of automation and speed to cope with increasing demand from the food packaging market.  Brearey added: ‘Speed is the key in this volume-based sector.  The new facility and the Diana X will guarantee improved lead times to our customers, and offer more consistent quality at a more competitive price.’

Paul Thompson, packaging specialist at Heidelberg UK, said: ‘Mainline Flatpacks, Quantum Packaging, and now Offset Print and Packaging Group have all seen the commercial benefits of this machine.  The UK will have Diana X installations fitted with a variety of modules including turning, lockbottom, four- and six-corner option, ejecting and a high-speed line with Diana Prefeeder and Packer.’
