Pamarco completes acquisition of Absolute

Pamarco Global Graphics has finalized the purchase of Absolute Engineering, as previously announced in May.

Absolute is a manufacturer of carbon fiber doctor blade chambers and the InkSave ink wash-up system, both of which are utilized in flexographic printing equipment for flexible packaging, corrugated and tissue industries around the world.

Pamarco signed a letter of intent to acquire the business of the UK’s Absolute Engineering and its American subsidiary, Absolute Print Engineering Inc. of Hiram, Georgia, in May this year.

This purchase will allow Absolute to enter a new phase of expansion, with additional products to be added to the 2G dual blade chamber, the UniBlade and the InkSave ink recovery system. It will also provide the resources to rapidly increase the manufacturing facilities in the UK.

Absolute is managed by Antony Whiteside, the managing director, and David Burke, technical director.

All the existing staff will remain with the company, and recruitment is taking place to increase both the production and technology departments.

Terry Ford, president and chief executive officer of Pamarco, said: ‘We are delighted to bring Absolute into the Pamarco family. It is our second acquisition in 12 months and under Antony’s leadership and with Pamarco’s capital investment program we see tremendous growth opportunity. Absolute is a perfect fit for Pamarco, and we see both companies benefiting from the deal.’

Whiteside said: ‘Absolute has made great progress since the company was originally formed in 2000. It is now the generic brand for carbon fiber doctoring systems and one of the most recognized brands in flexo doctoring systems worldwide.’
