Xaar launches Versatex Black printbar
New inkjet bar adds GS1-compliant variable data coding to analog label presses.
Xaar has launched the Versatex Black printbar, a high-definition inkjet printing bar designed to add variable data printing capability to existing analog label presses and finishing lines without disrupting established workflows.
The Versatex Black delivers 1D and 2D barcode and human-readable code printing for serialization, personalization, authentication codes and supply chain tracking at production speed. The printbar uses Xaar's High Laydown capability combined with TF Technology to ensure stable and consistent jetting of black inks across a range of substrates and production conditions.
The launch coincides with Xaar becoming a GS1 UK Approved Partner, confirming the Versatex Black can deliver GS1-compliant barcodes at production speeds ahead of the GS1 Sunrise 2027 transition, which will require the widespread adoption of 2D codes across consumer packaging.
'As traceability and compliance requirements continue to grow, particularly with GS1 Sunrise 2027 approaching, Versatex Black gives converters a practical way to deliver clear, consistent 1D and 2D codes at production speed, while also opening up new opportunities for digital connectivity and consumer engagement,' said Tom Mooney, product manager at Xaar.
