Bleach switched from cartons to IML
Belgian household products company Peritus Brands has switched its Blan White bleaching powder product from carton packaging to plastic containers decorated using IML.

This move provides functional benefits, as well as allowing the company to take advantage of the product decoration characteristics offered by in-mold labeling. Blan White is normally retailed in a carton box. Now packaged in square 800g UniPak plastic containers from RPC Superfos, injection molded in polypropylene, Peritus Brands said the new packaging is helping to reinforce sales and gain customer loyalty. UniPak also easily allows for refills and holds the equivalent of two carton boxes.
Isabel Vanhulle, marketing manager at Peritus Brands, said: ‘Blan White helps to maintain the cleanliness and freshness of white textiles. It is a household product, used in humid environments. The UniPak storage pack renders protection against humidity and prevents the powder from getting lumpy. In this way the plastic storage pack adds to the customer value of Blan White.
‘As a manufacturer, we know that our choice of packaging has a clear impact on our customer relations. The UniPak storage box is beautiful with flawless in-mold labeling decoration. We consider the packaging a strong means of communication and in this case we also put in a small leaflet with pictures of our product range and brand values.’
Development of the IML market features heavily in the films feature to be published in L&L issue 1, 2016
