M-real to promote sustainability at Luxe Pack

M-real Consumer Packaging will promote the sustainability credentials of its primary fiber boards alongside their surface properties at the Luxe Pack 2011 luxury goods packaging show in Monaco on October 19-21.

The company said the sustainability and presentation of its primary fiber boards, including the lightweight Carta Elega, Carta Integra and Carta Solida cartonboards, make them ideal for use in the beautycare market.

M-real uses Nordic wood and said it can trace all the wood it processes back to the forest source.  All M-real mills hold chain of custody certification from forest to product, and support the use of certified wood. In addition, any primary fiber additives are closely monitored and dedicated experts ensure chemical safety and compliance with EU regulations.

By using its lightweight boards, M-real said yields are increased and costs reduced throughout the packaging chain.  It said its boards help promote sustainability by consuming fewer resources, reducing transport weights and producing less waste at the end of the packaging’s life, as well as offering a specification for luxury applications that does not compromise the quality feel that customers look for.
