Etiduero scales to 16 Weigang flexo presses

Spanish converter's 18-year partnership reflects shift toward lifecycle value in equipment decisions.

Spanish label converter Etiduero has expanded its fleet to 16 Weigang flexographic presses, extending a partnership that began in 2007 when the company made its first investment in the platform at an early stage of its entry into the label sector.

The expansion reflects a broader industry trend in which converters place increasing weight on reliability, technical support and long-term value when selecting equipment suppliers, rather than evaluating purchases in isolation.

'We started with one machine when we were still new to the label industry,' said Jose Luis Ortiz Gordo, CEO of Etiduero. 'Step by step, Weigang has helped us improve our quality and become more competitive.'

Standardization across the press fleet has simplified production workflows and enabled consistent quality across a growing range of label applications. Ortiz Gordo noted that Weigang has made significant progress in recent years and now compares favorably with leading European press manufacturers.

Responsive after-sales support has been a key factor in the continued cooperation. 'They have never left any of our issues unanswered,' added Ortiz Gordo.
