Israel’s Highcon has joined the HP SmartStream Solution Partner program, meaning the press manufacturer will now be able to offer an end-to-end digital carton converting process.

Highcon said the agreement reflects the importance that both companies place on the move towards digital packaging production in both printing and the converting. Current trends in folding carton packaging point clearly to shorter runs, versioning, private label, reduced inventory and sustainability, the company said. All of these trends are supported by HP Indigo digital presses and HP Indigo is committed to bring an end-to-end solution for carton converting. The new Highcon Euclid, with its innovative technology of cutting and creasing, will be an important part of this vision transforming the way cartons are converted.

Simon Lewis, strategic marketing director at HP Indigo, said: ‘Based on our close relations with packaging converters we understand that we need to search for innovating converting technologies, Highcon digital cutting and creasing solution can be of huge value to our customers and will enable prospects to make a smoother transition to digital.’

Aviv Ratzman, chief executive officer and co-founder of Highcon, said: ‘The enthusiasm with which HP Indigo has encouraged our development of the Highcon Euclid has been indicative of the genuine market need for such a solution. We look forward to cooperating with Indigo to offer a complete digital solution for the folding carton market.’
