HP Indigo V12 purchased by German converter Labelisten

The purchase of this press, the third HP Indigo V12 in Germany, was finalized at Labelexpo Europe.

Labelisten purchased an HP Indigo V12 at Labelexpo Europe 2025. This will be the third HP Indigo V12 in Germany, and the installation is planned for April 2026 at its production site in Pfaffenreuth near Marktredwitz.

Many of Labelisten's customers are growing and increasingly requesting larger print runs without wanting to sacrifice flexibility and variety. This is where the HP Indigo V12 comes into play.

Founder of Labelisten, Frank Plechschmidt, said: ‘The additional capacity allows larger productions and recurring orders to be handled much more efficiently. The higher speed frees up capacity, reduces bottlenecks in day-to-day business, and increases the scope for time-critical orders.’ Additionally, the new machine will enable express production in higher quantities, improving planning reliability and delivery speed.

Plechschmidt continued: ‘Our customers are growing, and we are growing with them. The HP Indigo V12 gives us the speed we need for large print runs without losing our strength in small jobs. It is precisely this combination that makes us attractive and future-proof as a manufacturer.’

The additional machine secures capacity at an early stage, so that both existing customers and new projects can be served reliably, Plechschmidt said.

The HP Indigo V12 prints at up to 120 m/min, around three to 10 times faster than the fastest machines currently used by Labelisten. The technology is based on the advanced LEPx process and enables high resolution and stable color quality even with complex sorting.

The machine operates with 12 color stations, enabling it to accurately cover both multi-color series and special colors while keeping register accuracy constant, even at high speeds. This is crucial for demanding layouts and multi-layer label series.

The additional performance allows larger production runs and recurring series to be handled much more efficiently without compromising the print image. The higher speed frees up capacity, reduces bottlenecks in day-to-day business, and expands the scope for time-critical jobs.

An unwinder and rewinder system from A B Graphic is integrated for web guidance in conjunction with the HP Indigo V12. The technology is tailored to the machine and enables non-stop operation at full speed. It ensures constant web tension, reduces start-up losses, and minimizes material waste during roll changes. This allows the HP Indigo V12 to deliver its maximum output of up to 120 m/min without interruption and further reduce production stoppages.

The existing machinery will remain fully operational and will be supplemented by the HP Indigo V12. This will give the site in the Fichtelgebirge a significant boost in performance without changing the existing production concept.

Labelisten will continue to focus on individual varieties, short coordination channels, digital processes and no minimum print runs, but with significantly more flexibility in terms of speed and quantity in the future.
