MM Karton sees growth in digital

Highcon and Mayr-Melnhof (MM) Karton have worked together during the launch of the former’s new carton cutting and creasing technology as the market moves towards digital.
Highcon and MM Karton produced packages digitally cut and creased by the Highcon Euclid, part of a series of partnerships Highcon has embarked on with partners at every stage of the converting process to ensure smooth integration and running of the machine.
Miki Zimmer, chief operating officer and co-founder of Highcon, said: ‘The Mayr-Melnhof Group’s position as one of the world's leading manufacturers of both folding cartons and cartonboard made them a key partner for Highcon to work with to produce samples digitally cut and creased by the Euclid.
‘We are well aware that the company stands for quality and reliability, competence, innovations and packaging safety and so we are proud of the cooperation between our two companies.’
Horst Bittermann, head of marketing at MM Karton, said: ‘MM Karton's guiding principle has always been the sustainable and responsible production of high-quality folding boxboard and white lined chipboard, meeting on-going market requirements.
‘Today, dynamics show a clear trend towards digitally produced solutions. Reasons enough for MM Karton to proactively launch a pioneering product range for digital printing/converting such as MM Digicarton – an attractive FBB –, or MM Digicarton Eco – an environmentally friendly and cost-efficient WLC.’
