Xeikon: Drupa move supports changing nature of tradeshows
- Xeikon sees 11-day Drupa in 2016 as means to make the show more effective and efficient

Digital printing specialist Xeikon has reiterated the opinion of other suppliers and OEMs operating in the packaging printing market that an 11-day Drupa 2016 will help make the show more ‘effective and efficient’.

It was announced a week ago today that the next Drupa would take place in 2016, not 2015 as rumored, but over a shorter period.

A number of suppliers to the industry have already given their feedback to the news, which you can read here.

Filip Weymans (pictured, right), Xeikon’s business development manager, said : ‘Shortening the event makes sense as business owners/decision makers prepare themselves much better these days when visiting shows.

‘Time has become more valuable, and the visit is much more targeted than in the past. The internet and social media make information easier to access and available to a broader audience.

‘Shows are no longer explorations in the wild, searching for the gems for your business.

‘From an exhibitor’s perspective, we see this as a positive action allowing it to be more effective and efficient.

‘Keeping it at a pass of four years ensures also that Drupa can still be the show of new ground-breaking innovations, like it was this year with Xeikon Trillium and Landa.’
