Edale installs Gamma press in the Middle East
Edale has announced the sale of a four color 510mm fully servo driven Gamma flexo printing press to Halwani Brothers, based in Jeddah, Middle East. The company, said to be one of the best-known food manufacturers in the Middle East, achieves a large growth year on year; not only with food production but also the quality of its packaging.
When Halwani Brothers moved to a new factory in 2011, it invested in the Edale Gamma to strengthen its focus on packaging and aid production with ‘more sophisticated equipment’. The Gamma is now installed alongside the older Edale model, an E430 press, which still runs production 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
The Gamma printing and converting system combines fine print quality with innovative features for high speed changeovers, minimum downtime and minimum wastage. It features servo drives on each print head providing pre-register, auto-register and print length control features which, when combined with the print head design, ensures job change times and setup wastage are kept to a minimum.
Mr Bhardawil, production director, said: ‘We found our existing Edale E430 machine to be a very reliable runner but as our production needs became more sophisticated we decided to invest in a more sophisticated press to meet demands and with that came our decision to purchase the Edale Gamma. There was never any doubt that we would pick anything else when we visited the UK and saw a Gamma running in its production environment and were very impressed by the capabilities.’
