Bobst to grow UK package printer’s business

UK carton manufacturer Jaymar Packaging has purchased a Bobst Ambition 76 folder-gluer to support business development and free up extra capacity elsewhere in its finishing department.
Jaymar Packaging already uses Bobst folder-gluers, a Fuego and Mistral, with the Ambition 76 to be used for straightforward jobs so the other two can be used to manufacturer more complex jobs. Jaymar Packaging is a long-time collaborator with Bobst, having previously worked together to develop enhancements for the Bobst range of folder-gluers.
The Ambition 76 ordered by Jaymar Packaging is an A1 variant of the folder-gluer and is capable of handling both straight-line and crash-lock cartons. The machine will be installed in March.
Craig Street, director of Jaymar Packaging, said: ‘This will be our third Bobst folder-gluer and we see it as playing a key role in the further success of the business. We will be running it alongside our existing highly specified Bobst Fuego and Mistral lines and it will run our more straightforward work, freeing up the Mistral and Fuego to run the complex jobs that they handle so well.
‘It means we will have both extra capacity in the plant and improved productivity on our other lines.’
Street added: ‘The work we have done with Bobst in the past, along with the success of the Mistral and Fuego installations, meant that it was a natural choice to discuss our plans for improving the department’s workflow with them.
‘We also value the support we get from the Bobst Group Product Specialists that are based here in the UK.’
