More than 130 attended the inaugural Bobst and partners roadshow in Vietnam

Throughout the one-day event, held on June 23, Bobst and partners, including Atlas Converting Equipment, Coim, Esko, Rossini, Daetwyler Graphics, Daetwyler SwissTec, Macchi and Schmid Rhyner, discussed market trends and technologies in their respective fields, covering the areas of production, printing, converting and finishing.

Bobst and partner roadshows provide a focus on new technology and how that technology can benefit the users. They also offer networking opportunities as under one roof packaging converters will find a range of companies giving highly specialized presentations in their respective fields. The Vietnam conference opened with a welcome addresses from Othmar Hardegger, Consul General of the Embassy of Switzerland in Vietnam, and Cao Hong Quang from the Vietnam Packaging Association.

Eric Pavone, business director of Bobst’s web-fed business unit, said: ‘Vietnam is an important market for us, due to the fast growing economy and the packaging sector gaining market share to become one of the most rapidly growing industries in the country with increased demand for consumer goods and in particular foodstuffs.

‘The demand for innovative products is high and the Bobst range of solutions in flexo printing, gravure printing, laminating, coating and vacuum metallizing are ideal for meeting the requirements of the packaging industry in Vietnam.’

Laurence Dy, zone business director for Bobst’s web-fed business unit in Southeast Asia, added: ‘This, the first Bobst and partners roadshow to be held in Vietnam, was a great success and the feedback received from attendees was overwhelmingly positive.’

This event followed a similarly successful Bobst and partners roadshow in Pakistan.
