Flash4 invests in ABG Digicon finishing system
US label converter Flash4 has invested in the equipment to support its expansion in digital label and RFID production.
The equipment will operate alongside Flash4’s HP Indigo V12 digital press and form part of the converter’s strategy to develop a more automated label and RFID manufacturing platform.
Flash4’s relationship with ABG began with the purchase of two pre-owned turret rewinders, including one glue and one glueless system. In 2020, the converter added several new ABG turret rewinders and Omega converting equipment.
Dino Valentino, CEO of Flash4, said: ‘At Flash4, we don’t buy equipment based solely on specifications. We invest in companies that share our commitment to quality, innovation and customer success.
‘ABG equipment has proven to be extremely well-built, reliable and designed for real-world production environments. Just as importantly, the people at ABG stand behind what they build.’
Flash4 selected the Digicon after reviewing its digital finishing requirements and receiving recommendations from HP. The system will allow the company to produce applications ranging from blank labels to embellished digital products.
‘Our objective isn’t simply to add equipment,’ Valentino added. ‘It’s to build one of the most advanced digital label and RFID manufacturing platforms in the industry. Digicon plays an important role in that strategy, allowing us to efficiently produce everything from blank labels to highly enhanced digital products while improving workflow and productivity.’
Matt Burton, global sales director at ABG, added: ‘As Flash4’s business and production requirements have evolved, we’ve been able to support the company with technology that increases capability, efficiency and automation.
‘The fact that Dino and the Flash4 team continue to invest in ABG is a fantastic endorsement of both our equipment and our people.’
