Focus Label Machinery enters administration

Focus Label Machinery, the Nottinghamshire-based manufacturer of flexographic and digital label presses, has entered administration after more than 45 years in business, with Currie Young of Stoke-on-Trent appointed as administrator and 21 employees made redundant.

The company, based in Bingham, designed, manufactured and installed printing machinery in-house for the labels, packaging and textiles sectors, alongside providing servicing, training, spare parts and consumables. It cited cash flow pressures following delayed payments from customers in the aftermath of the US attack on Iran earlier in 2026, compounded by an inability to secure further support from its bank.

'Focus Label Machinery struggled with cash flow pressures, having been particularly affected following the US attack on Iran earlier this year, which resulted in delayed payments from its customers,' said Justin Brown, director of CY Group. 'The directors were unable to obtain further support from their bank and have made the difficult decision to cease trading.'

The administrators are actively seeking a buyer for the business and its assets, including freehold property of 1.06 acres with two units in Bingham, plant and machinery, vehicles, work in progress, spare parts and intellectual property, including historic designs, the customer list and the website.

Turnover for the year ending May 31, 2025 was approximately 2.6m GBP. Best and final offers are due by 4 pm on August 11, 2026, with interested parties directed to MGR Appraisals in Birmingham.
