Parkside welcomes students for International Print Day

Sheffield Hallam packaging students tour the factory and meet an apprentice.

Parkside has welcomed students from Sheffield Hallam's packaging design and technology program to mark International Print Day, sharing insights into careers in flexible packaging as part of its efforts to nurture young talent in the industry.

The students toured Parkside's factory, viewing its new product development lab and participating in a challenge to redesign packaging for their favorite food or product, or to create an improved option for packaging that frustrates them. Hayden Birkenshaw, technical apprentice at Parkside, gave a talk about his experience with the company and his current role.

'We were delighted to welcome the students from Sheffield Hallam to learn more about the packaging industry,' Joshua Swann, group technical and NPD director at Parkside, stated. 'Nurturing the next generation of talent is an issue that's very close to our hearts, and programs like this are critical for providing young professionals with hands-on experience and insights into a career in this dynamic sector.'

The event follows Parkside's previous work with Young People in Print, which supports young people in exploring the possibility of a career in packaging.
