Ravenwood fights global food theft with linerless label + RF technology

It recommends affixing the security tag onto the base or the top of food trays before applying the linerless label over it to effectively hide the tag.

Ravenwood is combatting the rise of food theft worldwide with RF technology, helping supermarkets with inventory management, customer experience and employee safety.

It endorses affixing the security tag onto the base or the top of food trays before applying a linerless label over it, effectively hiding the tag. This method also enables the Ravenwood Nobac range of machinery to maintain uninterrupted operation to achieve the same rate of packing per minute.

'We only endorse the one method though and that is direct application of the tag to the tray,' said Natalie Bell, marketing and events manager at Ravenwood. 'This method sits in perfect alignment with our linerless label technology.'

Ravenwood also supplies and supports the Trojan Security Base Labeller, which seamlessly integrates with any Nobac linerless applicator. The Trojan, which utilizes a servo-drive unit, is an extremely small and cost-effective promotional applicator that has set new standards in self-adhesive label applications.

This RF strategy comes on the heels of Ravenwood's new linerless machines Nobac 1500 and Nobac 40 Vac unveiled at Labelexpo Europe 2023.
