CCBA invests in Uganda’s bottled water capacity

CCBA (Coca-Cola Beverages Africa) has commissioned a manufacturing line at Uganda’s Rwenzori Bottling Company to enhance capacity for bottled water.

The first phase of the expansion project, completed in 2019, included a KHS Innoket Neo labeller and InnoPET BloFill stretch blow molder/filler bloc with a capacity of up to 25,000 500ml bottles/hour.

According to Conrad van Niekerk, MD of CCBA Uganda, the company is particularly impressed by the Innofill PET NV filler. ‘We’re achieving a line efficiency of 98 percent while operating around the clock, seven days a week,’ he said. ‘Rwenzori’s water bottling line’s performance figures, and those from Mbarara, where KHS installed a PET line for carbonated soft drinks in 2015, are the best in the entire group.’
