Foilco receives ISO14001 certification

‘No company can afford to make environmental policy low-priority. Customers and investors are requesting more and more often that clear steps towards improving environmental balance should and will be demonstrated. Historically, we have always sensibly organized internal activities aligned to the responsible protection of the environment, being able to use our ideas and concepts for good environmental management,’ said the company in a statement. 

Internal efforts for environmentally friendly production are often not transparent and evident for the external groups such as customers, investors, creditors. Therefore, the company decided to apply for the ISO 14001:2015 certification. 

‘There were many improvement tools and lean methodologies involved in the standard which were existing ways we work, such as plan, do, check, act – (PDCA) and strengths, weakness, opportunities, threats – (SWOT),’ commented Graham Towns, general manager of Foilco.

Foilco is now running a dual business management system that incorporates the 9001:2015 and 14001:2015 standards demonstrating its environmental responsibility internationally. The company is also planning to combine the two standards to form an integrated management system to optimize the return on investment. To achieve this goal, Foilco has created a new role of environment and standards officer within the business.
