Label Academy to host second virtual master class

Label Academy, a training provider for the label and package printing industry, has confirmed the second session to follow up its hugely successful inaugural virtual master class. The second learning opportunity will cover flexible packaging and is planned for October.

Label Academy has confirmed the second session which will cover flexible packaging and is planned for October

As with the previous virtual master class, flexible packaging will be presented by Labelexpo’s strategic director Andy Thomas-Emans, who will be joined by guest speakers from companies including Bobst, Esko, Flint Group, HP Indigo, MPS Systems, OPM Labels & Packaging, and Synthogra. The master class will also be split into two two-hour parts: one taking place on Tuesday, October 20, and the second on Tuesday, October 27.

Part one will cover materials and print processes, including an introduction to flexible packaging, creation of artwork and pre-press and printing processes and techniques.  The second part will focus on setting up a flexible packaging operation, with sessions including flexible packaging and the label printer, inks, coatings, curing and laminating, converting flexible packaging and from labels to flexibles – a converter perspective.

‘We are delighted to offer our latest online learning opportunity that builds on the success of our first virtual master class in June,’ said Thomas-Emans. ‘The appetite for learning is gaining momentum in these changing times, as the global industry recognizes the benefits of honing its skills and being ready to respond to the market as it recovers post Covid-19. Flexible packaging will be an essential part of that.

‘Moving into this lucrative and fast-growing market is nevertheless a complex process. Therefore, I would encourage anyone involved in the label and package printing production who may be considering diversifying to take part in these sessions, and also purchase a copy of the accompanying, and recently updated, Label Academy Flexible Packaging book.’
